A Thought a Day. No 33?
So today was a day.
Couldn’t get out of bed for nothin.
Got up shortly after my alarm anyways ate a pair of oranges and found myself unconscious.
Not unhealthy or anything.
Just exhausted.
Maybe it’s it’s daily training.
Speaking of I’ve been meaning to share.
I was off the mats for 5 weeks because of house arrest for a DUI I got maybe 3 years ago.
On that note I haven’t had a drink in…hold on let me check…. 926 days as of 17 minutes from the writing of this.
(They were super cool about it because of my not drinking and building a business and just generally doing my best to be good so ya know, thanks guys!)
Anyways, so I was off the mats for 5 weeks which I usually only do in the event of what I fear to be a serious injury.
I got sluggish.
Weak.
Almost clutzy even!
Now, I’ve been seriously physically active since I was 6 years old possibly slightly younger.
(Born and raised to 6 on Air Force Bases. Pretty good baseline for fitness if I say so myself)
Anyways this was rough not training.
The first day…kinda sucked.
The second day I just didn’t feel like myself.
But that 3rd day.
I was hype.
My body felt ready to roll.
I was rocking on the way there.
I got on the mats and moved like I do.
I just felt like me.
I say that to say this:
I know getting started SUCKS.
I know you are going to suck your first day.
You’re going to suck for your first year.
Then you’ll still suck, but you’ll suck in a less grand fashion and even start to suck intelligently.
Train Jiu-jitsu.
You won’t regret it.
